My ALA

As I look through the various blog posts, Twitter comments and the Official ALA Conference Catalog, I’m torn between anger that there are too many conflicts and worry that I’m not doing enough. Still, I think this schedule will give me enough time for everything…

FRIDAY
1 – 5 ISS School Tour
5:30 – 6:30 Exhibits w/ mk and Amy
6:30 – 7:00 YALSA Happy Hour

SATURDAY
8:00 – 10:00  AASL/ACRL K-20 program
10:00 – 12:00 YALSA All-Committee
1:30 – 3:30 What are you doing about emerging technologies OR
1:30 – 3:30 Yours, Mine & Ours
4:00 – 6:00 ALA Nominating
7:00 – Penguin Putnam dinner

SUNDAY
8:00 – 10:00 RUSA Literary Tastes Breakfast
10:00 – 12:00 Random House Fall Preview
12:00 – 1:30 Lunch w/Elyssa AND ProQuest Preview
1:30 – 3:30 ISS Social
4:00 – 6:00 ALA Nominating
7:00 – dinner with a non-librarian(gasp!)

MONDAY
10:30 – 12:00 Low-budget Ways to Connect Readers and YA Authors
1:30 – 3:00 ISS Business Meeting
2:00 – 4:00 AASL All-Committee
5:00 – Dinner w/ISS? Dinner w/Francey, Buffy, Diane et al.?

TUESDAY
Return home

There are open times but I’m sure they’ll fill up as ALA draws nearer.

    We’ll have to make plans too – should be easy since we are at the same hotel. Sad you won’t be at the Friday night ISS dinner. I’m getting there Friday late afternoon.
