Paging Jeff Probst

Posted by lpearle on 14 September 2010

A friend of mine recently shared an idea for a reality tv show, one I’d not only watch but volunteer to be on!  We could call it “Survivor: Classroom”.

Here’s the idea: let’s take a couple of investment bankers, a few politicians, some laborers and perhaps a lawyer or two and send them to teacher bootcamp, giving them a subject specialist mentor and getting them ready to teach.  Then put them in classrooms around the country (say, Harlem, Chicago’s South Side, some place in Appalachia, a school with a really mixed population and no dominant language, etc.) to teach for a couple of months.  Let’s see how they feel about our supposed “easy job” and light schedule.

Anyone else interested in swapping?
