As I’ve been looking through the archives for what works and what doesn’t work as a post, I came across this post from 2010. Wow have things changed!
Essential tools/websites then and now:
- Gmail (staying in touch)
Bank of America (for online banking)- TDBank (for online banking)
Facebook (seeing what my friends are up to)Google Reader (as Doug does, I’m cheating with an RSS feeder!)- Feedbin (still cheating with an RSS feeder)
- Goodreads (to keep track of my books and review those I’ve read)
- Twitter (again, seeing what my friends are up to/staying in touch with my PLN)
- Instapaper (to save long articles seen on the web for easier reading later)
Essential devices
DVR- iPod (old fashioned, yes, but I use my iPod daily while commuting)
- Kindle (for reading eARCs and Instapaper compilations)
